Twitter Communication Tool: BETA Test

Twitter is being looked at for all weather related scheduling changes and any last-minute changes that may affect practice and game scheduling.  We highly recommend that all parents and players register for Twitter to stay informed of late-breaking scheduling changes. This is especially important you are away from your computer at a tournament. When registering, be sure that under the "Settings/Device" tab you:

  1. Enter your mobile device phone number
  2. Enable your mobile device
  3. Check the box to enable you to receive the text messaging option

All Twitter messages are delivered via SMS text messaging. This platform offers a broader range of acceptance on mobile devices, as not all parents have e-mail capabilities on their cell phones. You may also visit the LB3 website for the latest info, although you will have to "go get" the information, rather than the information "sent to you." DURING THE TWITTER SET-UP PROCESS, OR, IF YOU ARE NOT GETTING YOUR TWITTER TEXT MESSAGE, PLEASE BE SURE YOU COMPLETE THE FOLLOWING STEPS:

In the Twitter application, go to SETTINGS, then DEVICES. Initially the screen will ask you to text a code to your phone number. Once you have completed this initial step, be sure the DEVICE UPDATES box is turned to ON. Then hit SAVE. Then click on PROFILE, then click on FOLLOWING (down to the right). Next to LB3LACROSSE, click on the tiny CELL PHONE ICON to the right and make it GREEN.

Enabling this GREEN, is the function that turns on or off the ability to receive the text message to your cell phone. If it is not green, the message will only post to your Twitter home page, or be delivered to your iPhone or Blackberry Twitter application. This gives you the flexibility of choosing one of three ways to receive your Twitter text message.
